It Hath Arrived

Well, we are basically at christmas now, ready or not. Not a lot to say as I need to get some other stuff done here *cough* wrapping presents etc.
I leave you with a holiday photo of piggies, hopefully soon to be more after tomorrow! *grin*

And a holiday link: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/map/index.php

The Taste of Freedom!

Yes, I am free, well, have been for some number of days now (perhaps explaining my abscence) and it is wonderful! Hehe, today I registered for next term though which wasnt such a happy event but it doesnt start for a while yet so I can revel for a bit longer.
I have kind of been avoiding posting because I wanted to take pictures of things and kind of do a photo montage type post of what I have been up to as of late but evidently *note the lack of photos* that didnt happen.
Maybe later but for now I shall leave you with my holiday link and song guessing game:
Some website linked to OfficeMax that has a bunch of different random holiday things (hooray for stuff to do when you're bored) if you run your mouse over the OfficeMax thing down at the bottom you can see the other websites to visit:

Guess the song:

Recap

Argh, so yes, shopping trip was not great, not terrible but rather similar to what I expected.
We basically ended up splitting up as there were five of us, which was two, two and a tagalong (moi) which was grand. Them = peering into mucho expensive stores (most of which I have never heard of before and were the kind that have security guards at the door, yeah, not what I usually inhabit) and purchasing things at semi expensive but rather fashionable stores. Me = traumatized by brand nameness and price tags and generally not horribly interested at all in much that was there (I did get to go into this one card type shop that was interesting and this bodyschlep place that had this tasty mint lip stuff/breath freshener that I liked but was expensive so didnt get, just used sample hehe)

Some choice moments:
-'ugh, lets go somewhere else, this is all the crappy cheap places (ie. Sears etc.)'
-Hermit spying a lovely fuzzy sweater, price tag=$1, 070.00-Hermit vamoosing out of there topspeed
-'FUR! I love fur, ohhh, soooo nice *touching*'
-After one such fur episode, Hermit looking at tag= 100% mini rex rabbit fur (this actually made me quite upset, twas spiff, but really thats MY bunnies relatives, argh! I am rather peeved about that actually *gets uneccesarily emotional*)
So yes, on the way back though we played games which was fun although every once in a while I said something that was evidently not quite 'right' but mrph.

Needless to say, I am quite excited about the prospect of being home and around folks who are a LOT more like me. I think one of my big problems though, is that I dont feel the need to make new friends because the ones I have are GREAT (see comments of previous post for good example) erg, but not seeing them hardly ever is crud.

Anyhow, a glorious thing has been found in my vicinity:

Meet the Peppermint Bark Ghirardelli bar:

As you are probably aware, despite my attempts, it didnt last long...

The song was Silver Bells, I rather like that song! Now for one that I quite agree with the sentiment of at the moment:

Daaaaa dadaaaa dadadaaaa daaaa dadaaaa dadaaaaa

And random thing that I learned today that I think is swell: The saying 'mind your P's and Q's came from Old England. When patrons got rowdy, the bartenders would tell them to watch their pints and quarts.

What a Dissapointing Realization

So much for updating early today, the time went by really fast before I had to leave to go see The Nutcracker and then it took rather long to get back (haha, we are SO skilled-got lost twice getting there and 3-4 times coming back!) and now I am here.
Basically though, I have come to the realisation that I dont fit in incredibly well, and that the main reasons why are because I am not a super commercialized fiend and stuff like appearance is not the top of my priority list. I miss not being around people who I dont feel are going to judge me based on my clothes, or the way my hair looks etc. and I really miss being able to just say whatever I want without having to worry about how it is going to sound or be taken by someone else. Oh well, only a few more days. This comes at the same time as my realization that our shopping trip tomorrow is to some huge mall that appears to only contain really high class stores (ie. A Louis Vuitton store)

Anyhow, enough negativity. Oh wait, not quite haha, skip down to the next paragraph for cheerfulness. I am having issues again about what I want in life and if I am doing the right thing. or just wasting my time. This stems from two teachers telling us that in January Marcia is planning on moving some people up to even up the levels so she will be watching us etc. Teacher # 1brought this up by telling us that the only person she recommended to be moved up was Jessica (this girl that she has been utterly enamoured with for a while) and that some people in our class are really pulling away from the rest of us. Teacher #2 decided not to give us a 'fun' class and informed us that in January Marcia was going to be watching us and that she is scared for us and that we need to work. So yeah, basically we are all crap *sigh* and I know that I am not the specific favourite of any of the teachers so its likely that I wont get moved up which doesnt really matter to me except that if all of the other older, new kids get moved up I will be rather upset because I dont think I am THAT bad. Its incredibly tempting to ask one of my teachers if I am wasting my time. The problem is, that if I am not cut out for this, I dont know what I want to do.

I finally reached the 6" mark on mere's sweater, however I have an issue now, in the picture it kind of looks like the ribbed section basically makes up the entire stomach covering portion and in my mind six inches for stomach coverage makes for a rather short sweater. However, I dont want to just decide to make it say 8" and then find out that my assumptions based on the picture were wrong, and so it sits awaiting its fate.

Now for the guessing game:
Daaada daaaaa daaada daaaaa dadadadaa dadadada dadadaaaa dadadaaaa dadadada dadadaa

Freedom!

Yes, I am finally free! Okay, well maybe not quite, but that darned assignment is off my list now. I still need to finish taking notes for the last of the botany units, only a few pages though, and the last floral unit. The bulk of the work is done though, no more assignments, only notes and studying and his time next week I will be done done done! Lalala!
Anyhow, I need to be in bed, two hours ago, so this update is short and not profound (ha, like any of mine are) but tomorrow I shall update since I finish at 12:30 *gasp*
But lastly, yes, twas Frosty the Snowman aaand three full days until I come home!
Okay, now off to bed with this little Hermit.

Re-entering the land of photos

Well, not a lot has been accomplished lately other than major amounts of procrastination which is great. Anyways, since pictures are back, here are the results of my short-lived snowflake making expedition. Can you guess which one was made with a template and which one was hand-crafted, er, mangled?

Progress on mere's sweater, I am thinking more and more that it is fairly unlikely it will make it to christmas being completed but you never know, once I dont have some stupid 10-15 page assignment to do I will have more time. *sigh* Tres interesting I know, but there is 6" of ribbing to start it off, almost done that now, hooray! I am getting tired of ribbing as that is where I am at on my sock (yep, still plodding away on it)

I caved, $10 for a beautious little fibre optic christmas tree was just too much temptation, especially when I could be doing things like working on said assignment as opposed to trecking to walmart to buy aforementioned tree. The time spent setting it up and subsequently being distracted by several TV shows roommate was watching also assisted in the amazingly sparse amount of time spent on the assignment. But wihout further ado, I present to you, un crappo picture of le tree:

As for my holiday madness, the song was guessed, We Wish You A Merry Christmas it was. Now for another one:
Daaa da dadadaaa dadadadadadadaaaa dadadadadadadadadada dadadadadadadaaaaa

My link for you: http://www.ilovewavs.com/Holidays/Xmas/Midi/midi.htm
A whole shwack of christmas songs to download, and plenty of variations.

And now, back to work (ha, yeah right, so far this stupid paper is a bit past 2 pages, I am aiming for 3 before I head to bed tonight, er this morning)

Not much to say...

Yep, so basically just posting for the sake of posting, well actually I have suspicions that my little procrastinator in my brain is tyring to make me do anything but the huge paper due on friday. Thanks. Anyways, not much to say and the post I just wrote up got killed so yeah.

I finally managed to fix the photo aspect of blog. Some kind sould randomly posted a thing on their blog saying that if you were having issues posting pictures to press F5, and voial, my picture posting abilities returned. How grand. Unfortunately (see previous post title) due to computer issues involving the internet refusing to open new windows etc. I can't actually use my newfound abilities but nevertheless the button now exists which is good.
I am coming home soon, very soon. Seven days or so although I am having troubles deciding on a specific date since I leave late on the Tuesday, but yes, not much time at all. Hooray!
Smidge of holiday was acquired; LED christmas lights now adorn my desk, how lovely.

Nobody got my song from yesterday so you get hints:
-not religiously affiliated
-an upbeat type song, but not one of those disguting new age ones or anything, still good ol' traditional music
-my writing has some words in syllables, because this is how it is sung, in my head anyhow
Now, for my holiday link, I am pretty sure you have all seen this before but I think it is swell and so you get to be reminded of it anyhow in case you forgot about it: www.snowflakes.lookandfeel.com
And maybe, just maybe, I will now steer away from the precipitation related holidayness, I vote this is due to the distinct lack of said precipitation here. Today was better temperature-wise though so we are getting there!

And lastly:
This is seriously the best resume ever! I want mine to look like that! *grin* http://www.ochenk.com/ochenkres.pdf

Technology is not my friend

Not much to report for today since all day I have been trying to fix my STINKING computer! *glare*
This virus dealy is EVIL I tell ya, pure evil, whoever creates these things are terrible people with no soul. Yes I am feeling a mite bit frustrated in case you were wondering.
Basically, it killed everything, whenever I opened an internet window it would open a bazillion more and just keep opening stuff and then my computer would start informing me that it had found spyware etc. Well thanks, how about you DO something about it. Anyways, one day later and maybe the problem is semi-reduced. Spent mucho time on the phone with little brother involving many programs to scan and kill viruses, adware, spyware and the like and from the looks of it my leetle machine had quite the following of evil friends.
Anyhow, enought about that, shall update you as necessary. Oh by the way though, that would be the reason for my absence from MSN, if you have gmail I can speak via that but MSN keeps trying to send out the lovely virus to people on my friends list, so yep, no MSN for now.

As for my contest, yeppers, Wulfy was right, twas Deck The Halls!
Now for todays:
Daaa dadadadadadada daaa dadadadadadada daaa dadadadadadada dadadaadaaa dada

Aand, my holiday link for folks:
http://www.papersnowflakes.com/patterns.htm
Patterns for those who, like me, can't make pretty paper snowflakes. Yes, that is one of the things I did today during the endless waits while various virus scanners perused the inner workings of my machine.
Okee, off to do some more virus fighting.

Bye bye pictures

So no more pictures for now, I seem to have lost the capability of adding pictures to my posts, how sad. Oh well, maybe it will encourage me to be more creative in what I write instead of relying mainly on the visual assistance the photographs provided me with.

Oh! So I seem to have managed to acquire a virus *glare* how lovely, it also just so happens to be one of the Trojan form which is apparently exceptionally evil/difficult to get rid of. So yes, thanks so very much internet.

Sweater is plodding along, still working on the ribbing, yeesh though, I need to speed up the process here if I want to finish it in time for Christmas.
Sock is coming along too; I think the ribbing is going to be awfully long if I use this entire ball. I am beginning to have thoughts of finishing it up here soon and using the excess for little mini socks for Christmas ornaments. I guess we will see.

I have been perusing other blogs today, as usual and came across this idea which I think is rather spiff. Idea being that one creates a Christmas 2006 journal; I like this idea, being a festive kind of person and all. Maybe tomorrow a trip to a crafty type place can ensue and I can work on that and goodies for my Secret Santa.

Since I am an uncreative person, I vote contest type things are a good plan (any guesses who this idea has been lifted from?) so here goes mine, in the festive spirit!
I am going to write out a small portion of a Christmas song and you get to guess it (Tyger has an unfair advantage though as we do this via email somewhat regularly) so yes, here goes for today:

Dadada da dadadadaaaa dadadadadaaaaa dada da daa daaadadada dadadadaaaa dadadadadaaaa da da daa da

Lastly, I have decided you get a holiday related something each post, so here goes. An online advent calendar that I have visited the past few years, quite enjoy it so hopefully you shall aussi.

Pinch, punch first day of the month

Die!! So I had my post all written up and it got killed *glare*

Mark your Calendars!
Thats right, you just saw the beginnings of me ma's Christmas present (hopefully, it is a sweater and what you see is all there is right now, so I guess we will see how speedy a knitter I am) as of this writing, it is at 3".
And in other monumental events, my Soils course is complete. done. fini. Hooray! 1 down, 2 to go.

I do feel rather accomplished today though, sent off my Soils assignment, (finished it last night, yay!) did some laundry, vacuumed my room, (for the first time in three months hehe, brought back my vacuum with me because sorry folks, the Swiffer Carpet Flick just doesnt cut it for me)worked a bit on my sock and a bit more on le gifty sweater and went to class.
Anyways off to bed with me.

Procrastination

Gosh, it sure is hard to get back into the swing of things, I am going to be a wreck after christmas break! Speaking of I am SO excited! *grin* I was informing le wulf about this earlier so I am putting it here because it is spiff:
So it has been established that if folks mosey on over to my house, I dont know if that is hapenning or not, (what is the plan anyhow?) then we shall have foods of the festive variety only, I has decided. Here is my tentative list:
-cranberry soup
-cranberry rice pilaf (has cranberries and celery in it)
-sugared cranberries or white chocolate covered cranberries or both (mmm, I love those sugared cranberries! *drool*)
-these cookies that have sugar coated jubejubes in them (they look festive to me anyhow)
And that is all, I need more green things! Ah well, still plenty of time for these plans.

Right now, in case you aren't aware, I am procrastinating, I have a Soils assignment due tomorrow and I really want to just send it off here tonight but as of yet it isn't finished so instead of working on it I am doing blog rounds and basically anything to distract me from the task. How intelligent...

My plans for homeness have been slightly mangled, I was assuming roommate #1 would probably be able to chauffer me to the airport (I like how at my age I still require driving around, yay for me) since it is in a time slot that she would be back from work and before she would need to get to class buuut today I found out that she is going home on the Monday, byebye plans. I really don't want to have to take another 65$ (feeling a bit francophone today) cab ride to the airport, granted the driver is really nice but I do feel that it is a bit steep just to get to the airport so I can fly home. *sigh*

And now I am going to post this but shall update later with pictures of projects and such and maybe, just maybe, the happy feeling of a completed and sent off assignment.

A synopsis of the last few days

Poor neglected blog...

Well, hmm, let me see here, shall we go back to the return trip home, I think so!
All was fine and dandy until I am at second destination at the Customs booth, I got some grumpy looking fellow (always a great sign, I vote customs people should not be allowed to work when they are in a bad mood) and he gave me a hassle about my Visa (ie. *glare* 'so WHO do YOU know?!') but I finally convinced him that no I hadn't paid someone into giving me my visa illegally and just as he was about to let me through I told him that I had some mandarin oranges in my carry-on and if it would be a problem to bring them across or should I just eat them here. Another lovely glare and I was informed that if I was planning on eating them I should have done that outside the doors, thanks for the sign telling me that and why the heck does it matter, I am in the same stinking airport and country on BOTH sides of those doors *glare*. So I got to go into the Agricultural area of the customs place where a lady, in a much better mood I might add, made me throw them away *sniff* although I kind of think that if I had asked her she might have let me eat one in front of her. Fortunately she said that my pumpkin pie was okay, boy would I have been peeved if they had made me throw that away too! I LOVE my pumpkin pie!
So the flight was uneventful, probably mainly due to the fact that I slept most of the way and I arrived back here at the suggested time, my cab awaiting, all was well. So I waited at the baggage carousel, and waited, and then established that no, my one checked bag was not going to be coming from behind those rubber flaps. Off to the claims department I go (after a few calls from the cab driver asking if everything was all right etc.) and get to wait for a bit more. Then the people in front of me happen to live in Israel and their street address isnt accepted by the computer, nor is their initial airline, more waiting. And finally, after much time, I got through, apparently they had already located my bag and it should be on its way to me soon. I got it the next morning, it had me pretty stressed though, all my dance stuff was in there so had it not arrived in time for me to get ready for class, I would have had some fancy explaining to do.

Anyways, have been back here in the balmy winter weather I am so unaccustomed to for a few days now. Not much exciting has been accomplished; school. dance. sleep. eat.
However, tonight in a fit of productivity (ha!) I swatched for mere's sweater, and hooray! I managed to acquire the correct gauge, so now I can begin the sweater, debating though, if I should rip out the swatch or cast off and wash it to see what it's like.

Swatch in all it's gloriousness, good ol' 22 stitches to 4" and 7 rows to 3/4", yay!

The green sweater was blocked and shoulder seams stitched together while at home and I did start on the neckband but little progress has been made as of yet, so no pictures.

Sock is still coming along, I dont have any pictures but it is just longer, I haven't started the ribbing yet because I have a reasonable amount of yarn left but the sock is getting pretty long now, it is currently at about normal sock length.

And that is all for now I think, I do have an amusing story that I stole from someone but it shall remain for another day when I dont have anything interesting to say.

The Day Hath Arrived

One Day!

Yesiree, I am on my way home! Okay, well not quite but in 4 hours and 15 minutes I will be waking up to leave for the airport! Yep, a whole lotta sleep I am going to get tonight, oh well, thats what six hour plane rides are for. (psh, studying)
I am almost all packed, obviously le machine isn't yet nor are the last of my clothes and some odds and ends, I am still debating as to whether I should bring knitting with me or put it in my checked suitcase, I just really dont want them to wreck it *sniff

Anyways, the bulk of my day today, minus packing, was working on my sock which now is beginning to look like a real foot covering, makes me awfully happy indeed! Its farther along than in the picture but I forgot to take another one and I do need to get to bed here so thats all ye get.

Let The Packing Begin

2 Days!

Yep, its coming up here FAST! *grin* so today I dusted off:
yep, le packing device, let the packing commence! Hooha, I am SO excited to come home!

In other news, accomplishments today were largely obscured by my latest obsession, the sock, I ended up having to rip out a fair portion of yesterdays sock when I established it was too big, remeasured and my gauge was actually 7 stitches to the inch, which changes the pattern a smidge:
7x9= 63-10%= 56.7, fudge numbers to get 56, 14 stitches on each needle
That seems to have mended the problem, sock fits much better now and today I made up for the ripped out portion, the sock is now past the ball of my foot!
Behold:

So yes, I am rather excited about this prospect although I really should be doing school instead of this *sheepish grin* and I am having plots about seeing if I can take it on the plane with me (but I think I might not, it does say that knitting needles are allowed in carryon but I really wouldnt want them to take them away in a fit of insanity, besides plane was supposed to be for studying, hehe, I am stellar)
Other than that, today has been pretty hohum. Oh the other day, namely saturday, one of our teachers (one that gives compliments rather sparsly and then often disguised in a snide remark) said that most of the new 4's this year will be 7's or maybe even 8's next year, makes me wish I was truly planning on coming back next year, oh well, I guess we will see.

Lazy Sunday

3 Days!

Today was indeed a lazy sunday, woke up late (haha, as in about 2 but in my defense I went to bed around five and did wake up at 11ish and then again at 12ish) baked some cookies:

Pretty tasty if I do say so myself. Dissapeared awfully quickly too in the presence of roommates and others.

Worked on my sock a bit more, established that it was WAAY too small:

Started anew, after doing some caculations (*gasp* that means I utilized my elementary math skills?! Nono, dont you fret, handy dandy caculator was put to use)

For my use so that I can repeat process on next sock:

Measure ball of foot: 9 inches, gauge -9 inches, 9x9= 81-10%= 72.9 (fudged to make divisible by 4->72) =18 stitches on each needle

Cast on 12 stitches on each needle (figure 8 cast on), knit two rows, increase while distributing 7 stitches on each needle, continue increasing until 18 stitches on each needle

Found that the resulting sock was much more appropriate:

And there you have it, my lazy sunday, note the distinct lack of schoolwork mentioned, yeah, not a good thing, should probably do something about that.
Hermit

Venturing into the land of SOCKS!

4 Days!

Well probably when this is posted it will actually be three but I count it by the time I go to bed so there.
I generally dont accomplish much on saturdays but I did begin my venture into sock knitting:
Casting on:
Some progress, it is awfully tricky working with all those needles, (5 in total!) I am used to the two pointy sticks for making stuff but after a few bouts of ripping out I managed to get things under control:
Progress as of posting, this is the toe of the sock in case it is unclear:

And in case anyone *cough* Tyger, in interested, here is where I am procuring my knowledge:
In other news:
Schoolwork is behind but I vote that is to be expected due to today being saturday and a birthday celebration (ie. lackage of evening) ah yes, speakingo of birthdayness, twas a rather ackward situation. So both of my roommates got the girl presents and waited to present them to her when I was around (she got here before I was out of the shower/ready, ie. time to present to before but I will attempt to reserve unkind judgement) and of course me being the spiff individual I am had neglected to partake in such an undertaking, thinking instead that I could make her a cake (hadn't been done) so I felt the need to express my intentions to which she said that it didnt really matter, do what I want etc. (okay, well in a nice voice, I am not sure it sounds like it was said nicely written like that but yes, she is nice so yes) but still, I get the distinct feeling that they are all a lot more materialistic than I and thus my lack of present=cheap, or rather, my offer of homemade present/cooking = cheap/weird. Stupid society.
Yet another issue manages to have cropped up, brought to my attention by roommate #2: roommate #1 has made a copy of the key for her boyfriend, without asking us if we are okay with that and has since kept that information from us. (roommate #2 only knows because she overheard a phone conversation) We are SHARING the apartment, she does NOT own it even though it is her name on the bills, we signed up for it together, therefore it is a joint effort and thus I dont feel it is appropriate for her to be making copies of the key (well, also I dont even know if that is allowed, I somehow recall something in the lease about copies of keys not being allowed to be made) and just giving them out to random people (*cough* person she met at a bigbox store and has only known for a few months) of whom which will be here in town while we are all gone for vacation, not exactly a comforting feeling. It's not that I dont trust him, but what business does he have in here by himself, none of his stuff is here. (well minus his guitar video game thing, but if it's that important to him, keep it at home for goodness sake!)
Okay, end rant.

6 Days!

Sweater Pictures: Here are all my sweater pieces, complete, I would say that the colour is most accurate in the sleeve pictures. I am noting that the sleeves might be different lengths though so I will have to investigate that further. Am still on the fence regarding the back and ripping out, also need to see about this sleeve schlep, will not be a happy camper if that requires some redoing also.

I am hoping that the yarn for meres sweater will come tomorrow so this project might be abandoned for when I am at home, not sure yet.
Today wasnt terribly exciting, it rained a lot, how enthralling, okay, time to end this now.

Laundry

One Week To Go!

As for today:

Finished the sweater sleeve! Pictures will follow later but for now you get my remaining yarn (yeah, thinking that the back is staying the way it is) and lots of leetle cables!

On the situation front, it seems that me bringing up the fact that since my living situation hasn't improved I shouldn't be paying more than before solved the problem. All is well for now, minus me being a turd and preferring to have the place to myself during the day.

Made some rice pudding tonight, tasty, and sort of satisfied my craving for sweets although not enough to stop me from demolishing the 3Musketeers in the freezer.

How classy, plastic container and all!

Today was laundry day as well and as per request, here is how laundry works around here:

1) Fill up washer with water and soap, add clothing
2) Place lid on washer and commence cranking handle, continue for 1-3 minutes depending on size of load
3) Drain and repeat with clean water, or rinse clothes out by hand
4) Place dripping clothes in dryer
5) Remove slightly damp clothes from dryer and hang to finish drying

And now for some pictures documenting the process:

Update and Various Ramblings

Update:
As of yet, the note has been ignored, so I am guessing that a face to face confrontation must ensue *sigh* but I was talking to other roommate today and she was saying that she thought it seemed reasonable to assume that my rent would remain the same.
On that note, we had a nice conversation today, I guess it is a good idea to be less reclusive at least some of the time! I do think that we could get along just dandy, we seem to have similar beliefs which is spiff because I choose to believe that some of my beliefs are rather old-personesque.

Ramblings:
Sweater is coming right along, only eight more rows until I am done the sleeve, I am getting increasingly nervous about the lack of yarn though. Oh well, I am sure I will have enough to do the neckband, its just deciding about the back... Shant be finishing tonight though, I told myself that bedtime was 2 today and it is already a few minutes past that.

Saying goodbye to my one early night this week *grumble*
Today during class, one of the teachers came in and told us that on thursday we have class from 8-9 (we usually finish at eight, our one early night in the week) which is crud, I choose to believe it is our punishment for getting a break next week. Unfortunately I think that it may be partially my fault, the other day she came up to me and asked if I thought our class would like to have a guest teacher on thursday and I said it would be nice to have him (but to my defense, what am I supposed to say 'uh, well I would like to have him but I would rather go home early thanks') and then she went on about how she could maybe fit him in on another day and such so I was hoping that the thursday thing had been avoided, apparently not.
True, I am here to take class so I should be happy to have another one, with a guest teacher etc., but on the other hand I do think it is important to have some time off and yeesh, I would think that 30 hours a week is sufficient for an extra-curricular activity!?

Well, since I am an idiot, I am going to calculate out time, I do think it is around 30 hours though:
-Monday: 5:30-9:15
-Tuesday: 3:30-4:30 and 5:30-9:15
-Wednesday: 4:30-9:00
-Thursday: 3:30-4:30 and 5:30-8:00
-Friday: 5:30-9:00
-Saturday: 9:00-7:15 (although now we are being let out at 6:30, hooray!)
Soo, that brings us up to...yep, 30 hours and 15 minutes, although I think there is an extra class (an hour) on friday that I am not accounting for but anyways, I think with 30 hours we are entitiled to one day off early. *end rant*

Well anyhow, I must be off to bed here, I am thinking that I should at some point here make a list of what I am grateful for since I tend to be such a complainy person, ah well, for another day.

Issues

8 Days

Once again, the rommate situaton has acquired a glitch (at least in my opinion) Yesterday the costs were posted on the pegboard and my costs went up a LOT (well only about $40 but it looks like a lot) while theirs went down a fair amount. I did say that I would be willing to pay more rent to keep my own room but in my mind that means continuing to pay 1/3 while they split the remaning 2/3 by three. In my mind thats fair, since my room situation hasn't changed while theirs got worse, hence the lower cost for them. Evidently that thought wasnt shared by them. Anyways, I put a note up so we shall see here later how things go.
Started on the cap of the sleeve last night, hopefully I can finish it tonight (provided I get a decent amount of schoolwork done here earlier today) but then I need to decide if I want to try and fix the back or just finish the neck/sweater.
Schooling is coming along albeit slowly, more on that later.

Nearing Completion...

Single Digits!

Yep, I used recycled paper, yay for me! I have voted that I am going to start packing a week away, only two days until I start packing then!

Many things are nearing completion:

-school courses:

soils is finished, now I just need to STUDY (but I am feeling a bit better since I discovered that it is worth 35% of my final mark)

floral design is getting there, if I get my butt in gear, I might finish module 7 tonight, then I should be finished the course by the end of this week.

botany isnt as far along, should be working on unit 6 this week and there are 8 units/modules in the course.

-knitting:

sweater is coming along, I am almost at the sleeve cap of the last sleeve (the last piece of the sweater!)

Er, and not much else, affirming the major lack of life I have here!

Countdown

10 Days
Thats right, I am eagerly counting down the days until I get to come home, 10 days today!! The hands were the brainchild of Tyger and I finally got around to doing it yesterday and they conveniently located on the wall above my bed.

As for the rest of today, the bagels were finished, laundry was done, some knitting was accomplished and thats about it. But here goes my chronicals of the bagel making process:

Dough Bagels awaiting boiling water bath

Boiled Bagels before baking

Fresh out of the oven

I did have a bit of a mishap at the beginning, the dough was too dry and I added waay too much water but more flour seemed to remedy the issue and they dont taste strange so I vote that all went well!

Well here goes...

Well, it is up now, I guess we shall see how long this lasts!

Right now my attempt at bagelmaking is sitting on the counter 'resting' so I shall soon find out how they are, I am actually pretty excited about them but yes.

Anyhow, I think I shall update this later when the bagels are done (or mangled) and I have possibly figured out how to add pictures because that would be swell, methinks anyhow.
