Return to the homeland

Yes, 'tis official, February 10 brings me home! Hooray, well actually on the 10 I will be in francophone-land (hehe, am a bit nervous about that) but the 11 will find me back home home.

In other news, I am on day 2 of vegan eating and am still alive, hooray for me. Last night I made vegan eggplant parmesan (and no, it didn't have cheese, this stuff called nutritional yeast is used to create a 'cheesy' flavour) and tonight had more of it and also made scones/biscuits. The only thing I need to figure out is something sweet/desserty to make, hehe.

Hip is on the mend, I think, so that is grand.

I finally phoned the bus place and figured out the schedule, I think that I will be able to get to the Petsmart which means volunteering with bunnies!!!

Minor schoolage was accomplished today, still working on getting back into that habit.

En peu more snow tonight.
Short and sweet is my method of madness tonight, I am plotting of heading to bed early tonight so that I can make a bus type expedition tomorrow. We shall see how that pans out.

Do you see what I see?

Look closely....

Thats right! The white stuff finally made an appearance here, hooray! In fact, the pictures are from two, yes, two different times! This made for a decent accumulation, unfortunately it basically all melted when the sun came out.

In other news, my photo a day plan has majorly died, I am largely attributing it to the lack of photographable material. Oh well, I am planning now to just take more pictures in general but without such an unforgiving plan.
I finished the second front on meres sweater, now for the sleeves however I have another conundrum; the sweater calls for 3/4 length sleeves but I am making them full length and I am not sure if I will have enough yarn so I was thinking I could do the cuffs in the alternate colour but the sleeves start with the alternate colour. Plan being that I could attempt to do the sleeves from the cap down so that I end with the cuffs and also knit up the lace insets (with the alternate colour) for the top first so that I know how much yarn I have to use. I am kind of nervous about doing that though so for now it is languishing.

I had great plans for auditioning for some places mid-February and it was almost all planned out and then my hip started bothering me quite a bit, went to a physiotherapist, basically tis my Iliacus muscle that is bothering me but he didn't really say how long it would take to heal etc. etc. so basically I don't know what to do in regards to the auditions. Bleh.

Between planning for the auditions, hip business and procrastinating, school has largely not been happening, this is a bad thing. I did do some today though, I really need to work on it this weekend though.

Life Lessons with Hermit

Well gather 'round kiddies, its high time this was brought to your attention.

Do not put a facecloth, or for that matter any object related to a towel etc., in the microwave.

That's right folks, it will burn, and let me tell you, this is not a pretty scent.

And that concludes Life Lessons With Hermit

Forwards and backwards

Well guess what? It snowed today, imagine that. Granted it was only for a few minutes (and I was in class, dang, but I did get to watch since I was standing right by the window) and it stayed on the ground but still, one step closer to winter weather. Right now tis -5 so hooray for that!
Aussi, me pere is possibly coming to visit me this weekend, yipee! It's kind of sad how excited that makes me, haha, I get the distinct feeling this is due to my parents feeling notsogreat about the whole living situation at the moment *grin* (they were recently informed of some of my latest 'issues') but yes, still, that is happy and since he has this fancy flight dealy where he pays a certain amount per month to fly as much as he wants, it isn't really an extra expense (flight thingy is for work)

So, now for some pictures:
Le sweater, has been finished since I came back but finally took the pictures, tis crud though, hasn't been cold enough to wear it yet but with the weather like it was today, things are looking up.

Le sock, yes, as you can see, there appear to be a few issues, namely sock #2 is distinctly larger than the first one. I believe this entails ripping it back and doing the heel over again although I am not quite sure where I went wrong but as of yet, I am ignoring it because I really don't want to do that. Ladeda

365 Pictures. Yep, already failed, on Sunday I didn't take a picture, but I partially blame poopy weather on that and I truly intended to; see I went on a grand expedition to the library and was planning on taking pictures on my way back since I headed out later than intended and didn't want to get there too close to closing time. But while I was in there, I saw another girl from dance and she ended up giving me a ride home, which was tres nice since I got quite a few books *grin* but yes, am plotting of making some kind of album for posting of those kind of pictures, maybe later as tis rather late here tonight.

Some weirdo hippie type activities, I have taken it upon myself to try out le buildage of random things, tonight being this herbal shampoo stuff.
Needless to say, such activities have been conducted in my room, we shall see how it works tomorrow after it has steeped for the night.
But yes, now off to bed with me.

My Frustrations

Dear Roomates:

I just though I would clarify some things here, me being a paying member of this rental agreement and all.
a) I think it is completely reasonable to have friends/other people over, however it does seem a bit excessive for you and your boyfriend to basically live here, there are other places to go you know.
b)
In accordance with the above statement, it is somewhat disconcerting to have to continue to walk past you and your boyfriend conveniently stationed in the middle of the apartment, while I understand this is shared accommodation, is there really nowhere else you can go?
c) I would think it not unreasonable to assume that with three people living here and two fully functional bathrooms, a bathroom would generally be available to be used, however this was not the case. I am not unreasonable, and do think that yes, on occasion one might have to wait for a washroom, but waiting over three hours while your boyfriend occupies the washroom presumably regurgitating the contents of his stomach due to a considerable (and may I mention, illegal) overconsumption of alcohol, does seem a bit excessive to me.
d) While yes, watching horror films at 2am does seem like a lovely way to spend an evening, er morning, snuggled up, those of us who may be attempting to acquire some sleep may find it slightly disconcerting to hear blood curdling shrieks every few minutes, and yes, this may hamper those attempts.
e) I am aware of the fact that you were brought up under certain circumstances and are used to living a certain way, but am I the only who thinks it is slightly disgusting to have a huge laundry basket overflowing with refuse in under a week from basically two peoples garbage?
f) I understand that your early morning schedule may leave you rushed and frazzled, but is it too much to ask to ensure that the door of the fridge and freezer are closed prior to your departure.

Sincerely,
Your Silent but Present Roommate

Well, that does feel good to get off my chest, now if only I had the nerve to actually mention some of those things to them *cough* her. Ah well, if she truly is leaving, then I guess it wont matter in a month or so anyways.

Maybe I didnt actually want to find out....

I have often wondered what would happen to someone if they died, well ok, moreso, what would happen to their internet persona. Would a close friend or family member notify the general public who reads their blog, or is a member of the messageboard they frequent? Or would they just suddenly drop off the face of the internet with no-one but those who knew the person in real life having any idea? Well, I found out. (actually a while ago and I meant to write about it then but it just didn't happen)
One of my holiday links was to this annual online advent calendar that I have been reading for a few years now and it makes me happy. Well, a week or so into December I went to check that days page and it wasn't up yet, ah well, I figured it was just the time difference or something and forgot about it. A few days later, the same thing. And then I went back another day to find a message from the ladies family, she had died in her sleep just randomly. So I guess that is what happens although now that I think of it, I would have been ok not knowing.

As for other things, nothing much exciting to say, although I am proud to say that so far I haven't missed a day with my photography plan which is grand! Today I finished the back of mere's sweater and am now working on the front, hooray. Also working on the second sock to the one I finished a while ago. Besides that I should be starting on some of my school here so that I can have a head start but I am rather unmotivated as of late. Maybe tomorrow...

365 Photos

So I have made myself a glorious plan, thus being to take a photo a day (well likely more than that, but at least) in an attempt to acquire better skills. So far, I have been successful in taking photo(s) each day *hush you who speak of the number of days we are into 2007*
The photo opportunities within the apartment are rather limited and I have thus taken to photographing textures, actually reasonably fun and something I wouldn't normally do. Enjoy, and you can guess as to what each texture is from (although a few are things you probably haven't seen, yourwelcome)

There are to be no comments on my lackage of life with regards to the arrangement of photos or the disgusting amount of time it might take someone to fiddle so that each picture is the same size. Speaking of that, is there anyone else, besides Tyger and I, who checks blogs regularly, and by regularly I do not mean once every day or two, I mean several times a day religiously? Just wondering...

So this gets to be the ultimate blog post lengthwise since I don't feel like making several posts. Actually I lied, its because I am a fool and like comments, if I was to post several all at once then some wouldn't get comments.

Okay, well without further ado, le question thingy a la Tyger (sorry in advance for the major lacking in humour, if thats what you are after, just skip this chunk over if you may):
List 12 people:
1)Douglas
2)Elizabeth (the one we went to school with)
3)Jo
4)Jordan
5)Liam
6)Mouse
7)Nomad
8)Peter
9)Rat
10)Sam
11)Tyger
12)Wulf
answer these questions:
Q: Have you ever kissed 7? No, although there was that time.... (err, maybe that was with Rat, I wonder if she remembers/has any inkling of what I speak of)
Q: What's the best memory you have of 9? Hmmm, lots, although I do appreciate our wednesday night escapades in general, particularly the 'lets see how much water we can drink and not go to the washroom' idea (was that the thing where we were timing ourselves *avoids elaborating)
Q: Whens the next time you're going to see 4? Perhaps next time I go over to 7 and 9's house, or maybe when I go to church and 9 is again not there *sob*, beats me really, likely not for a while.
Q: Is number 8 pretty? Well I am not sure one would generally use that term to describe said person, but maaybe?....
Q: What was your first impression of number 10? Don't really recall, although I imagine it was probably slightly skewed by previous speakage about from 11
Q: How did you meet 3? Via being in the same grade 3 class, well actually it was probably more likely through mutual friend of nomad (ditches using numbers)
Q: Is 11 your best friend? yes, as are 5 others of those people listed *warm fuzzies*
Q: Have you seen 5 in the last month? Yes actually.
Q: Do you think 2 has a crush on you? Haha, I wonder if she even remembers me.
Q: When was the last time you saw 12? On Saturday, yay sledding! (how was sitting the next day there wulfy?)
Q: Have you ever been to 1's house? Yeppers, plenty of times actually.
Q: When's the next time you'll see 10? Not for a while I think, although mayhap next time I is home, Tyger and I can accomplish our grocery store field trip, and since store is close to her house, maybe then, but then again, maybe not. =long winded way of saying beats me
Q: Are you really close to 3? Yes, at least in my head, well I feel like you have to be fairly close to a person after knowing them for over a decade!
Q: Have you ever been to the movies with 4? Actually yes, hehe, I went avec their family to a movie once.
Q: Have you ever gotten in trouble with 2? I dont think so, but it's always possible since I was such a troublemaker and my memory is crud.
Q: Would you ever go out with number 7? Welll *ditches proper meaning* I would go out to many a place with Nomad.
Q: What do you and number 3 talk about the most? Most recently, everything, prior to that it seemed like it tended towards weather *snicker, thats great!
Q: Do you even know 9? Yesiree! Again, the whole decade+ thing.
Q: Would you give number 12 a hug? *tries to remember if we hugged one of the more recent times we have seen* I am sure that I have, haha, even if it was a 'I am going to squeeze you to death' type hug that would have ensued in the era of Medical Sciences *grin*
Q: Are you in love with number 7? Friend-love, yes, what is it with #7 anyways?
Q: Do you know a secret about number 9? yes
Q: Describe the relationship between number 9 and number 5. Younger brothers are friends, is friends with his older sister.
Q: What is the best thing about your friendship with number 10? haha, the fact that we frequently speak on the phone like this: 'Hello?, *cackle, wheeze* Hi Tyger, uhhh who is this, *snort*, helloooo?, Hi Tyger, oh I will go get her'
Q: Have you ever danced with number 7? Yep, dancing in mud! Oh we had some grand times back in the day!
Q: How long have you known number 11? Lets see here *wipes grunge off of math area of brain* 6 years, I think.
Q: Have you ever been in a fight with number 8? Ah yes, constantly, in fact, I am having a screaming match with him over the phone as I type this.
Q: Would 2 and 4 make a good couple? Suuure, but I think its fairly unlikely
Q: Have you ever wanted to punch number 2 in the face? No, she was always very nice, or so I recall.
Q: Has number 1 ever met your mother? Yes, although most likely in a fairly offhand way, but yes.
Q. How did you meet number 6? Via Rattigan, I cant recall if she took part in our recess Donovan Baileyness but I feel like she might have.
Q: What would happen if you put 10 and 12 in a room together? Not sure, I vote either very little talking, or perhaps findage of a newfound joint interest *cough, Star Treck, cough*
Q: Did you ever accidentally physically hurt number 5? I really doubt it, his older sister on the other hand....
Q: What is the best memory you have with number 1? Erm, well, haha, where he had a friend over and we were all at their house and we wanted them to go elsewhere so a rather charming conversation was started that involved spastic yelling of choice words/phrases
Q: Do you live close to 7? Erm, well, kind of, some of the time.
Q: What is number 3's favorite food? Hmm, I actually dont know, I do know however, that it isn't microwaved broccoli.
Q: Out of your 12, which one would you say is the funniest? I think it depends on any given day or time
Q: Who is the most flirtatious? erm, haha, well I have heard tales of 10's lunchtime friend
Q: If you could change one thing about number 10, what would it be? Likely removing one of the more Tyger-irritating factors
Q: Say something nice about number 11. Is on le machine with reasonable frequency, so I feel like I have friends (that is a compliment, haha, I promise!)
Q: Which one lives the farthest away? Number 3, no wait, 2, apparently she is in Latvia or Estonia or something right now.
Q: Which one do you hang out with the most? Well this last chunk I had 3 timeslots avec 11, but I think it varies, especially now, whoever is home *sigh*
Q: The quietest? Err, well from my point of view, 10 is, but I think that is because I have basically zip contact with, so yes
Q: What kind of car does number 12 have? The invisible kind, maybe transit (is there transit up there Wulf?)
Q: Have you traveled anywhere with number 8? Does the park on friday count?
Q: If you gave number 2 $100 dollars tonight, what would they spend it on? I really have no idea, although maybe put it towards school or something.

And wonder of wonders, my walls have acquired something other than paint:

P.S. These photos don't count for my photography upping skills, they were taken at night, which my camera despises, thus pictures de la crap.

Today was semi grand, our class in ginormous, actually, and we were jammed into mucho small studio and topheadlady came in because she spied children 'not being serious' so she reprimanded them and then noted how crammed in we were. She shoofed in and out a few more times and then asked 4 kids from me class to go into next studio (class that is a level above us) and I was all 'poop, those are obviously the kids she is going to move up etc.' she peered around a bit more, and then shoofed me into other class aussi! Hooray. Well, not that that means much, because then she came and watched that class and I was *mangledie* so yes, but I am trying to inform myself that it was due to just returning and not that the kids in that class are way mucho better than I/we. But yes, the end.

And lastly,

Trouble says 'Allo, what's this?'

Christmas Dregs

Here is my holiday recap, albeit a bit tardy, better late than never though, right? right!??

The holidays were grand, went by much too quickly but many a critter picture was procured, so here are a few of them:
The Rabbits

Piggins

All in all, twas a rather relaxing day, especially for a certain white rabbit.

And now, the new year is upon us, time is going by much too quickly.
Green sweater was completed in 2006, photos to follow later. Mere didn't receive the pink sweater but I am now planning for her birthday, the back is almost done, plenty 'o time.
Anyways, I have plenty of things to say, but they will be saved for a later post.
